the informers

theinformers

so i was just recently made aware of a very interesting looking new movie that’s debuting at sundance this week and then will be released widely in may called the informers. it’s from the guy who did less than zero – a move i still adore ;) about bazillion people i like are going to be in it: winona ryder, chris isaak, billy bob thornton (among others). the plot synopsis from imdb is as follows:

A multi-strand narrative set in early 1980’s Los Angeles, centered on an array of characters who represent both the top of the heap (a Hollywood dream merchant, a dissolute rock star, an aging newscaster) and the bottom (a voyeuristic doorman, an amoral ex-con). Connecting the intertwining strands are a group of beautiful, blonde young men and women who sleep all day and party all night, doing drugs — and one another –with abandon, never realizing that they are dancing on the edge of a volcano.

a little cheesy, i know, but whatevs. you can check out the interesting although kind of confusing trailer below. if nothing else the soundtrack is going to be amazing!:

bye bye dubya – can’t say i’m sad to see you go…

letterman (per his usual brilliant-ness) put together this giggle inducing top 10 george w. bush moments. i love all of them but i had never actually seen him drop his dog. that’s just sad!

i am so excited for tomorrow! ahhhhhhhh! :) the last eight years are FINALLY over!!!

Joaqu This Way

Joaquim the muso!

Sorry about that title!  But that song was a grand and stellar collaboration betwixt Run DMC and Aerosmith back in the day and it also kinda sorts fits with Joaquin’s new career as a hip-hop artist.   He performed a rap or something in Vegas the other day.  Here’s a clip.

I may have to dump Whorelando for Joaquin because he actually looks like he  doesn’t hate himself and his pants fit.

It’s Martin Luther King, Jr. Day

Okay, perhaps this post is an odd fit with this rest of this blog .  Oh well!  You know what, today is the day that the USA honors the achievement of Martin Luther King, Jr.   If you have the day off, hopefully you understand why.   If you don’t, there’s something wrong with your  ephing employer.    Just kidding.

Did you know that all 50 states didn’t even observe today (the third Monday in January)  as a holiday until the year 2000?

Did you also know that Barack Obama was about two years old when MLK, Jr. gave his “I Have a Dream” speech?  That’s almost too awesome.   Tomorrow, Barack Obama will be inaugurated as the 44th President of the United States of America and I can’t hardly wait (I’ve been watching CNN around the clock).   I’ll be posting about this tomorrow, so please come back  and join the party.

Anyway, back to Martin Luther King, Jr.; he was a good man.
