Can’t Ephing Write

Stephen King doesn’t think Stephenie Meyer, the slag who wrote the Twilight Books, writes very well.    That Stephen King is a smart, smart man.   Anyway, in an interview with USA Weekend he links Steph Meyer and JK Rowling  together (only because they both speak “directly to young people” ), but he breaks that link when it comes to the quality of their writing.

Sayeth Stephen:  “Both Rowling and Meyer, they’re speaking directly to young people… The real difference is that Rowling is a terrific writer and Stephenie Meyer can’t write worth a darn. She’s not very good.”

Phucking ouch.

That said, he thinks he knows why she’s so gosh darn popular:   “People are attracted by the stories, by the pace . . .  it’s very clear that she’s writing to a whole generation of girls and opening up kind of a safe joining of love and sex in those books.  It’s exciting and it’s thrilling and it’s not particularly threatening because it’s not overtly sexual.”

I have nothing to say about the quality of her writing  because I’ve never read any of her awful books.   But in her defense,  there are more than  just young girls are reading the shiz.   So maybe there’s more to the appeal than what he just said.  Maybe a whole slew of people and not just young girls are under the delusion that love begets sex and so on.

Someone who “can’t write worth a darn” has all four of her books on the New Yorks best seller list, at the same time. I have to say shitty or no she is laughing all the way to the bank and her stories are getting out there for all to read.

The books are nothing complex like stephen king’s stories. They’re mainly based on charactor development. As predictable as the story might be you love the charactors and they don’t dissapoint, like rowling did. I have read both series because i have no life and I am borderline geeky. lol

Eh, besides, King and Meyer don’t even write the same genre so why is he commenting on her books in the first place?

Oh well, I think healthy compition is good for people.

Anners I taught that I was the only person on earth who never read or heard about twilight until the movie came out. Twilight is just everywhere for some reason. Oh love the new lay out, it is perfect.

He’s kinda right but he didn’t have to go and be so rude and so it openly. J K Rowling is an incredible writer but how many other authors come close to that quality anyway? Stephanie’s storylines are interesting – they make u wanna turn the page and see what happens even if the quality of her writing isn’t amazing. The books are entertaining – that’s all the matters.

    Sparkly vampires.

    ‘nough said.

Honestly, it offends me that anyone (mostly the fangirls/mums/boys) would compare Twatlight to Harry Potter. I started reading Twilight and gave up about half way through, because I thought it was so awful and that bloody Mary Sue of a lead character needed to be bitch slapped. The movie was just full of the lulz.
